(Re)Connecting to Spirit

In a world where there is so much emphasis on what divides us, we’ll use our asana practice to (re)connect to the powers that unite us. Through slow, mindful movements we’ll create a new relationship to breath and spirit. Students can expect a challenging yet grounded vinyasa practice that holds the relationship to breath as its foundation. We will aim to understand that the deepest power lies in being present to our relationship to the practice, the posture, and the breath. This class encourages self-reflection & self-discovery—be prepared to take the long journey back to you!

Saturday, October 5th, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

(Re)Connecting to Spirit – Session 1:

In this session we will spend a little time discussing what yoga actually means, how that applies to our lives, and how it shows up in our practice. With a quick look at the anatomy of our breath , we will then begin to discover a new relationship to breath and apply this to a solid, well-rounded practice.

Saturday, October 5th, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

(Re)Connecting to Spirit – Session 2:

Building on Session 1, we will attempt to take our practice a little deeper through our new relationship to breath and try to tap into what the postures feel like rather than what they look like. Expect some longer holds and graceful transitions.

Sunday, October 6th 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

(Re)Connecting to Spirit – Session 3:

Based on the practice of layered sequencing we dive into a sequence that brings old postures to life in a new and different way. Using our refreshed understanding of the anatomy of breath—and what it represents—we work towards creating new space not just in our practice, but in our lives.

Sunday, October 6th 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

(Re)Connecting to Spirit – Session 4:

This is where we bring it all home with a solid vinyasa practice combining everything we have worked with though sessions 1-3. Our asana practice takes on new form andmeaning with every breath, transition, and prayer.
