Why Yoga?
I believe that developing presence is at the heart of any yoga practice, learning to turn the attention inside to live in the present moment: “hic et nunc” (here and now).
What is your professional path?
I studied Sivananda at Sivananda Ashram in Madurai, India, achieving my first certification in 2008 –Yoga Allliance RYT 200– to become a teacher of Hatha Yoga. After some time, while I was still living in Singapore, I decided to deepen my studies of the subject of Ayurvedic medicine. I spent a long time in a small village in the Himalayas of North India, studying at the clinic of a traditional Ayurvedic doctor of Kerala. There I obtained the certificate of “Ayurvedic Operator”.
I completed my 500 hours of Teacher Training – Yoga Alliance RYT 300- at the Kripalu Center in Massachusetts. There I specialized in Integrative Yoga Therapy, a method that uses the tools of the yogic tradition to act on the psycho-emotional component of the individual. My passion for Yoga as a therapeutic tool led me to deepen the link between body and emotions through Lowen’s Bioenergetics and to undertake a professional training course in Gestaldic Counseling. This is a psychological approach very close to oriental philosophies, which recognizes the role of the body as fundamental in emotional healing.
