How to inspire and teach your students to Breathe
for teachers and teachers in training
This special workshop was designed by Max to help teachers to guide their students on how to breathe and why to breathe. In global cities like London, getting a class to breathe deeply can be like pulling teeth. This is because in contemporary urban life there is so much stress, so much competitiveness, and so much frozen energy around people’s hearts; transforming this to a new healthy state is a huge leap. For some, best sets is the hardest part of one’s yoga practice because it is in the chest that we keep our grief and our old memories, and to open the chest would mean dealing with a new personality and a new life—a massive transformation. This is what we simultaneously both strive for and fear. It is like we are stepping on the accelerator and the brake pedal at the same time. This workshop will include a lecture, standing and seated breath work, and key yoga postures and movements that cause the students to breathe deeply even if they are resistant or not paying attention. This workshop will help you to embrace teaching breath work to students with new confidence and knowledge. Bring your mat and writing materials. (Please no recording equipment)
Friday Evening from 7:00-9:00 pm
Vital Life-Better Sleep: Stress management
All levels are welcome. Bring writing materials.
This evening workshop deals directly with the modern plague of sleeplessness and stress. In America, the Center for Disease Control has declared sleep disorder an epidemic, and this is happening in industrial cities across the world. This workshop will help you re-think your priorities and give you knowledge to take home with you to help you sleep and live more at ease. This workshop begins with a lecture, and then moves into a gentle restorative sequence of postures and gentle movement that immediately trigger deep relaxation. Simple, powerful accessible. Max will give you knowledge to take home with you to help you live more at ease with improved sleep. All levels are welcome. Bring writing materials.
Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m.
Strength and Stillness
The intent of yoga is not only to increase our strength and flexibility, but also to promote health and vitality. Experience Max Strom’s unique practice, called, Inner Axis, is a hybrid of yoga, qi gong, and unique breathing patterns that emphasize emotional transformation. Class will include a short talk, inner axis yoga, non-dogmatic philosophy, breathing, and meditation.
Saturday from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Some Doors Open Only from the inside
The healing power of transformational breath-work
The voice of our intuition and wisdom is commonly drowned out by the noise in our mind. This noise is often caused by chaotic or congested emotions from stress, depression, anxiety, or PTSD. Focused breathing patterns can spark within us the reawakening of our higher nature, the voice of intuition, wisdom, and conscience. The practices you will learn in this workshop will take you to new depths of insight and inspire you for weeks to come. Max has taken this work around the world to people of many faiths and nationalities. Bring your mat and writing materials. (Please no recording equipment)
Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m.
